Hi, FitSouffle fans! I’m Anne, a Washington D.C. area Registered Dietitian with an online/virtual nutrition counseling private practice and health/fitness blogger over at fANNEtastic food. A big thank you to Jacquelyn for having me over here today while she is traveling!
In honor of winter, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite nutritious but delicious soup and chili recipes with you guys. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
6 Favorite Healthy Winter Soup & Chili Recipes
1. Chunky Turkey Vegetable Soup - This is almost a cross between a chili and a soup. It’s very satisfying and is man-approved – my husband loves it!
4. Homemade Minestrone Soup (vegan) – This is one of my all time favorite recipes – I make variations of this all the time because it’s so versatile! Great for using up all the random veggies in your fridge, too. :)
5. Sweet Potato Lentil Chili (vegan) – This recipe is one of the most popular on my blog! This is another recipe that freezes well for later, which is good since it makes a ton. Perfect for a chilly night when you’re looking for something comforting but not heavy.
6. Turkey, Veggie, & Barley Chili – Lastly, another old favorite and complete meal in one bowl. Barley is a whole grain, has lots of fiber, and contains 8 essential amino acids! Plus, it has a very pleasant, somewhat chewy texture. Yum!
I hope you’ll give some of these recipes a try, and please stop by my blog to say hello! You’ll find more healthy recipes, quick meal ideas, fitness adventures (I’m a big runner and just completed my first full marathon in November), and fun. :) You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
Thank you for reading! Happy cooking,
